ChatPanel is local-first. It is designed so your data stays on your machine. We, the developers, do not operate a server that receives your conversations or page content on the Free or Pro plans.

Permissions

Acting on the page is driven by the AI model you choose and is best-effort — it can make mistakes, and content it reads (web pages, meeting transcripts, or connected tools) can try to influence it. ChatPanel acts only when you turn it on and ask, pauses for your confirmation before sensitive steps such as submitting a form or making a payment, and you remain responsible for reviewing what it does — especially on banking, email, or work accounts.

Responsible use & disclaimer

ChatPanel is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. Automated page actions and any AI provider, agent, or tool you connect are under your control, and you are responsible for the actions you ask ChatPanel to take in your browser and on third-party sites. To the extent permitted by law, the developers are not liable for outcomes arising from that use. Keep page control off on sites where a mistaken action would be costly unless you intend to supervise it.

The Team plan (cloud features)

If you opt into Team features such as cloud sync, the specific data those features require (e.g. chats you choose to sync) is stored on our infrastructure to provide them. These are opt-in and clearly labeled.

This website (chatpanel.net)

The marketing website uses Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand aggregate traffic — pages visited, referrer, approximate region. This applies to the website only; it is separate from the extension, which remains local-first and is not analytics-instrumented. You can block it with any tracker blocker, and we honor browser Do-Not-Track where supported.
